Default manual trans fluid

i have a leak and it almost looks like baby oil in a way...anyone have a clue what it could be? it was leaking from around the transmission area....sorry if this sound like a stupid question but i havent ever dealt with any transmission problems or the fluid in a transmission before......

where exactly is it leaking from, can you be more specific? baby oil? like as in clearish fluid? i have no idea what that could be. trans fluid is, generally speaking, red.

yeah i always thought the same thing red.........could it be something to do with the clutch because its leaking right around where the housing and all come together at the engine...the liquid is clear just a tad yellowish maybe.....

hmmmmmmmmmm, how about possible green? smell it or taste it. im willing to bet its coolant. your rear seal or your intake is leaking.

it has no smell at all...and i really believe the very very small yellowish tint was from all the pollen on the garage floor...its leaking right around where the xpipe connects at the end to the mufflers

so like the tailshaft area? if its leaking from the tailshaft its more than likely trans fluid and the tailshaft bushing is bad. grab your drive shaft towards the front U joint and give it a good shake... it really shouldnt move much.

he said it is where the bellhousiong and engine meet. that could be rear main seal seapage. i replaced mine and its gone. the fluid he is talking about sounds like engine oil to me

yes but then he said where the x pipe meets the mufflers all that connections is at the tailshaft.
