puttting a 302 in a 96

I'm pretty postive you can use 96 gt motor mounts. Yes the 96 is the first year they went to the 4.6 liter but it's still in the 302 family. Plus that part will match the cars year. But if you are going to a v6 to a v8 you will have a lot of other parts that will need to be changed. You have quite a load of work to do but it will be worth it. Nothing like a v8.

+ 1, to redpony, you'll need a donor car because nothing from the V6 is compatable with a V8.
Modular engine family, includes 4.6L, 5.0L Cammer, and 5.4L V8s, familiy specifics: overhead cam design, 2/3/4 valve options, more sustained torque curve across power band, higher reving engine capability
Windsor engine family, includes 289, 302, 351 engines, single hydrollic or tappet cam with 2V push rod design, roller rockers, high early to mid peek torque curves with less sustained torque across the entire power band
Not the same!

mustang manac is wrong :P
as state above you need a v8 5.0 k member the v6 tranny will bolt to the motor although it is a weaker variant
so your gonna go with EFI? if so you might just want to look for a totaled 94-95 GT/GTS/Cobra to help you in this swap jmho
