Afr 165's
Are they as amazing as everyone makes them sound? I've read that article about making 400+ ponies with just heads and rockers. Is that typical?
Anyone have any personal experience?

don't buy into the hype..unless you love those magazine lies?<hense who sponsors them?..
i'm sure this will turn into an afr vs thread, but trust me there are better heads for the money out there

i dont see why Car Craft would lie about the numbers. theyve been in the business for a LOOONG time. one of the mustang magazines picked up 75hp i think with AFR's 185's in one of their cylinder tests over the GT40X's i think...or maybe it was the 165's, i dont remember. AFR makes some damned good heads though either way. went to their website and heres a list of articles for SBF tests: http://www.airflowresearch.com/store/articles.php#SBF

HAHA. why would they lie though? isnt some kind of law about lying in print...although, there are tabloids, so there goes that idea.....i dont know. ive known a couple people to switch from edelbrock or tfs to afr's and say they could feel the difference. who knows.

a lot of people say there are better heads for the money but when you consider you're getting a fully CNC milled aluminum head they're actually priced really well. People just love to rip on them for God knows what reason, and I'm sure the valve spring thing will come up too. I bought the 165s and I really don't have any regrets, awesome head that fits like OEM.
As far as that magazine article you have to keep in mind it's not a WHP number and it's also a carb setup. the AFR heads have proven themselves many times over.
