c6 in a fox?
#4
I have a C6 in my fox. If you are running short tubes with standard height port heads it's pretty much a bolt it. You have to use a larger flexplate. If you are running an aftermarket crank you will need to machine about .250 off the torque converter snout. You have to have a custom driveshaft. It will bolt up the the stock crossmember. If you are going to run a set of rasied port heads (most aftermarket heads over 180cc) header selection is slim and expensive. It's a tight fit getting around the C6.
Unless you have a big inch small block making lots pf power it's not worth the trouble. On a stock or nearly stock engine it will eat up a lot of power. On a 500 hp engine there is a 58 hp power loss though the C6 vs 28 for the C4. I used the C6 because I had a brand new one sitting in my shop that was never install in the car it was intended. If I ever tear it up it will get a C4. My advice is skip it and go right to a good C4.
