Spec or Centerforce?
I've been going back and forward with this.Im on the verge of ordering a clutch i have a bolt on 87 5.0 and i'm debating between a Spec St3 or a Centerforce. Which 1 would be better/easier for a dd?

i wouldn't go that far now.
my car only had exhaust when i put my tko and centerforce stage "whatever" in my car..i drove it everywhere..even a few trips to florida..
9yrs later the clutch was still good when i pulled motor and stuff out last month..

do you have any plans for upping the power in the near future? Even the spec stage 2 can hold like over 400lbs of tq, really overkill for your setup right now...

I was thinking just that without even reading your post..lol, and yes I would go that far...lol.....why??......got one in my 92 with a few bolt ons and 3 years strong and has an already survived 100+ 5500rpm launches, now I'm not saying to do what I've done..lol.....just luck of the draw for me, called defying the odds...lol.....if you plan to race it alot centerforce

you want to go that far mjr46?...then quit throwing comments to take shot's at me...
are these napa clutches balanced?..mine wasn't
are napa clutches sustained to stress cracks ..mine was..
do napa clutches lose there clamping force when they get hot..yep just like a stock replacement clutch would do.
wouldn't you want a clutch to be able to absorb some of the shock rather than letting it beat on your stock t-5 or even your high $$$ transmission.
when i was putting my cj5 together, and trying locate certain parts for my 350/t-5 swap..centerforce even reccomended not using "stock replacement" on pos 180hp 350..for the fact it's hp rating is blah but the tq rating would be enough to destroy a stocker.
a better designed..higher quality clutch would be a wiser decision over something that barely surpasses stock oem standards IMO

I was gonna go with cf but I had to cut my budget a little and got a FRPP heavy duty instead. I would at least get that or a king cobra, but for the price of the KC you might as well order a cf dual friction.
