Default Funny noise

Will a misadjusted roller rocker make a hollow sounding noise near the valve cover?

O.K. Now I think it is coming from the smog pump. I had a local mechhanic look at it, and he couldn't figure it out either. When we unhooked the belt the noise "seemed" to get louder. Any help would be nice.

How about I put up a video where you can hear the noise. The noise seems to be coming from more towards the passengers side rear, but it is really hard to place. http://vimeo.com/4320402

it really sounds like part of the smog system is blown out, but has a hint of exhaust leak to it

I unhooked the serpentine belt myself , there is no difference in noise. I tightened a few loose bolts on the exhaust and O2 sensors and still no change in noise. It sounds as iif it is coming from the back side of the intake. Would a leaky intake cause a almost knocking sound? Thanks for any help you can give.

I hate to ask this, but could it be a connecting rod or push rod? I tried pulling plug wires to see if the sound decreased, which it did not. I'm hoping that rules out the connecting rod. But what about a push rod? What would that sound like?
