Default snapped a line and need to know what it is (pics)

so in replacing my defective egr valve today, due to not paying attention I snapped a line. It's just a hard plastic tube/hose, but I don't know what it is for and I need to know if I'm going to be safe to drive it. I've attached 3 pics of it, and hoping you guys can help. I can replace it at a parts store today but need to know if I need to find another way to get to the store, as well as how to get the ends off, they're rubber and almost feel like they're glued in place or just extremely tight.

any advice for me? My own stupidity, but I'd like to avoid doing further damage

thanks all

this might be a better pic. Large middle section of the hose snapped off, broke at both ends.

Just plug the line and drive it,you can connect the lines back together with a small piece of vac hose. The rubber ends will pull off.

thank you sir, on my way to pick up a new piece of hose

home mechanics 101, don't break stuff when you're fixing something else. Eventually I'll learn
