Default Nervous About My Motor...

Is there any way to determine if or what are the tell signs of a bad headgasket(or other engine killers of that sort?)

Recently my heater has been smelling of hot coolant, I figured that's just my heater core going which I can live with til I feel like pulling the dash apart. Would this be a symptom of anything else?

If it starts leaking inside the dash you can always just cap off the section that the tubes go to the heater core. Then when you are ready you can rip out the dash and actually replace it.

If it does get bad enough that it starts to leak inside and into the floorboards it can get soggy, and moldy, and you will need to replace the boards as well.

Okay, thank you very much.

Just wondering, where (general area) is the heater core behind the dash?

I just want to know where to pay attention to.

heater core is behind the glovebox. drain your coolant and loop a hose on the hard water line at the back that is under the upper intake.
