oil pressure???
so i recently change the oil pan, pick up and pump....oil pan had a hole in it so i changed the pump and pick up wile i had it open. Anyways the probleme that i am having is the gauge, when im driving around the gauge reads kinda low (not where it should be for a new pump, second white line), and when im stopped at a red light it drops right to the bottem like its not working at all but when i have it in park it reads the same as when im driving around and sometimes it jump around from the two white lines down past the red mark. I took out the sender from my other fox (one in the sig.) and put it in this one and still the same probleme, sooo i took out the cluster out of the one in the sig. and still the same probleme, so maybe its a bad ground in harnest but i doubt that because wouldnt the other gauges be messed up too? or could it be the wire coming off the sender?

Get a oil pressure test gauge, And observe what it tells you. Did you torque the pump down properly? did you put the gasket for the pump to the block and the p/u tube to pump in? If you put the gaskets in correctly and still have the same issue, I hate to say this but it looks like your heading to an engine overhaul my friend.

Could be the wire to the sensor, but since the pump was changed I'd make that my first likely culprit. Was it a quality pump? Did you torque it down so it's not got a leak?(it'll suck in air that way) Is the new pan the same size as the old one?(ie the oil doesn't sit at a lower level) Did you check the pickup to pan bottom clearance?

yeah i torqued it down properly and i used new gaskets, the gauge was doing the same thing before i changed everything, which leads me to believe its a bad ground or sending wire because i dont hear any ticking or anything when the gauge drops...so ill just go down to the local parts store and pick up a cheap mech. gauge and see what happens
