Default head and cam lift

hey all, I'm looking at heads that have a .500 lift and was wondering if I can run a e303 cam with 1.7s (.520ish) or 1.6 (.498?) without hitting. I wasn't sure if the head lift coencides with cam, maybe a dumb question

Sorry, meant to say springs good to .500, does that mean it's a spring issue or valve issue and are they not usable

always install springs that will match the cam. I honestly dont give a rats *** what comes with the heads... and max lift has NOTHING to do with PTV clearance

um yea... you do.. dont argue with me

I dont give a rats *** if they say the springs are good for .600 lift and you run an F cam with .512... you ALWAYS match springs that are recommended FOR the cam!

Ok, thanks again, not arguing. Just a novice asking a question. Thank you for your answer.

heads come with generic spring packages, while they will work for some cams, they need to be checked and compared to spring specs required by cam manufactorer.

Ok, new question the heads are D0OE, they have 1/2" head bolt holes, stainless steel valves 1.94" intake and 1.60" exhaust and the springs are 115# on the seat and 275# open, good to .500" lift, 58cc combustion chambers. The rocker stud bosses milled 3/16" with new screw in rocker arm studs and guide plates, new hardened exhaust seats. I know I need different pushrods and spacers for the manifold, and valve cover to do the 1.7s, but with an e303 will I have any ptv issues with this setup, it is a stock bottom end '92 302.

well i think the ptv clearence wont be an issue. the springs however with this set-up is although. with a 1.7 rocker your looking at a 520, compared to a 1.6 at 498. you should either change those spring or leave the 1.6 on it. ive always been the kind of guy to say screw the springs, but never with a lift of the cam and the max lift of the spring having a big gap. so def. chang ethe springs or run the 1.6's until you change the springs.
