Default head gasket again?

I just got my heads resurfaced and a valve job done got it all put back together after what i thought should be a blown head gasket. Started it up ran for about 10 minutes and started here a faint knocking type noise coming from the passenger valve cover area, pulled my dipstick only to see milky oil again, took off the radiator cap to see water level lower than it should be. I'm hoping its not the head gaskets again but is there another issue it might be? Thanks for any insight

well, as previously posted, it could bea bad timing cover gasket, or even a leaky intake gasket.

did you put any sealer on the intake gaskets around the coolant ports?

No, only sealant I used was underneath the front and rear rubber seals.

No sealer, especially with the bolts that go into the water jacket = water in the engine. Take it all back off, again, get new gaskets, again, and go to autozone and get a small bottle of thread lubricant (little gray bottle about the size of a coke can), and get a small tube of thread sealant. It's not the bolt lock stuff, it's thread sealant, it's in a small 3" white tube with a red cap. You use the thread lubricant on the long bolts that go into the top of the heads, and the lower intake bolts, using this insures proper torque settings, if you do not use this, you'll blow a gasket as the bolts may not evenly torque. You use the thread sealant on the little bolts that enter the water jackets in the heads. These seal the bolts and head from water backing up around the threads and into the cylinders or out the side. You can also use it on the nipple that goes into the lower intake from the heater tube to get a great seal.
