Default Disappointing price tag with TFS Wedge Heads...

Well saving up for new TFS twisted wedge was a feat that I finally am close to but it is disappointing to find out what else I need.

First off I need new rocker arms which means that I need new pushrods for different length (because of heads, not rockers)

Then I also need new valve covers for the higher highth of the rocker arms because I have been told that the new rockers won't clear it.

That is the minimum I think I need to get the heads to work with my car.

But then I started to want more. I wanted a matched cam to accomidate the TFS TW heads. Then I wanted roller lifters to smooth things up a bit.

I then wanted new pistons designed for the heads which means I can convert to a 347 stroker and get a higher compression. Of course I haven't look too much into it but I think this means new rods and crankshaft right?

But then because i am going to get heads first, I won't see the full pontential until I get a higher flowing intake and accomodate that with exhaust. But I am not too worried about that.

If I get the heart of the engine great, the externals are easy to save for.

Welcome to the wonderful world of modification my friend. There's always something else you "have to have" and speed costs money for sure. Just pace yourself and do what you can when you can. You can always keep saving and get the whole Trick Flow engine kit. I believe the only thing it lacks is the lifters and the fill kit for the valve covers.

Twisted Wedges don't need special pistons. Or did you just mean there are other heads out there as well that don't require special pistons?

I would and can. I have enough to get my girl flying but that is not what I am looking for. I know that what you put into a car does not come out of it when sold. But I don't plan on selling it. For 15 years now (since I was a kid) I have always wanted a fox body mustang. I finally have been given the chance to own one and I don't care how long it takes but I want her to only have the best.

I also like to have products that not too many people have and GT40s and AFRs are too popular.

So that is why I have decided on TFS TW heads. They seem unique to me and I like what they say.

But yes this is the world of modifications. Mo money, Mo money. Oh well there is always something that can be added. But once I get these heads and the new roller rockers and valve covers I am going to get it dynoed at the same place I did before.

And see how things have been improved from the stock 190rwhp I was pushing.

Thanks for the help guys.
