Main Cause Of Overheating?
My fox has a new(ish) radiator, but i believe its an OEM repop, a stock crank driven fan and shroud, and stock water pump with a 180* thermostat (replaced about 4 months ago). When i was drifting (it was on a hot day) the car was overheating, hitting 210, 215 and i believe it hit 220 at one point. Is it the water pump, radiator, or fan that would be most beneficial to replace? i have about $400 in summit racing credits and was planning on replacing at least one of these. Thanks!

depends. if it overheats while driving it can be blockage in teh rad/block, bad rad cap, or bad t stat.
if i overheats while at idle it could be bad wp, bad t stat, bad rad cap or bad fan clutch.

The main cause of overheating is too much heat and not enough cooling
Seriously, 220 is not anywhere near overheating..... especially on a hot day when you have the motor wound up and the car hardly moving. It is a little warm..... but you won't boil over until close to 260. Additionally, an 89 longblock with iron heads can take heat like that more than a few times without serious damage. Boil over with aluminum heads..... well that's a whole 'nother story.
Your condition is normal. Take care of that sexy car you got there

rad fluid is good, rad cap is good, t stat is new, fan works fine.
Not stock gauge, autometer.
Well thats good to know that 220 isn't overheating, and i have stock heads.
But realistically should i replace the pump with a high flow pump or get a nice 3 core rad?

-Not enough coolant
-Fans not working
-Bad rad cap
-Bad thermostat
-Bad gauge
-Bad headgaskets
-Cracked/warped heads
-Air in the system
-Blocked passage hole (though unlikely)
- Stock radiator? Could be all gummed up
Good luck
