Default Quick, but stupid timing mark Q

OK, with the S/C on the way I'm going to have to redo the timing on the car, I'm sure that 15 degrees will be too much, I just want to make sure I'm reading the marks right, so I'm going to ask this question in a manner that assumes I know nothing about the marks.

Heres a quick description of the marks on the crank
______
______| <----That represents the metal plate that you use to line up the mark
10----0----10----20----30

OK, with that said, and to make sure the mark is in the right spot now for 15*, where should the mark be for stock 10*, and where should it be for 15*

The answer is you want the marks to be to the right of the zero. This would be 10* advanced, and is also where I would recommend you back it down to for starters.

aslong as you are running 93 octane or whatever the highest octane is were your at and you 100% sure your not getting any octane ping under load then your fine at 15*. Iv had buddies take it to 17 before with no octane ping.

ALso as staed the 10* to the left or would be down side on the balanced would be 10* retared and actuall 20* retarded from factory advancement

A little off topic but what should timing be at for a 125-150 shot and 93 octane?

Yea, I have no engine ping as it sits now, but I am having to run 93, 87 pings out the *** to say the least. I'm probably going to drop it to 12 or 13* with the S/C and start retarding more if need be.

as mentioned pull the spout and set base at 13 , which where I often set it and it runs well there.
