Question Serp. Belt Size

ok so here is my question i just recieved my ford racing a/c eliminator kit and i need to know what the proper belt size would be summit recommends i get a 84.50 but here is the catch i dont have a smog pump now what i was wondering is if anyone has the a/c delete kit on there 5.0 and if they also do not have a smog pump what size belt would you recommend im thinking i would need a 74.5 but its just a guess so any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!

I still don't understand why you guys buy these useless eliminators!

Anyway...

Use a wire and route it around the pulleys the fashion the belt would be and then measure that and you have you're length.

I have no A/C or smog and this is how I have mine....for the 17th time...



Ribbed tensioner pulley btw...

so i went to autozone today and got the gatorback belt i asked for a 73 but they only had the 73.5 would that be ok because wouldnt the tensioner pick up the extra slack?

The PS pump isn't up a foot and no extra pulleys...

One thing I would point out is that you have failed to S the belt around the crank, and therefore can easily experience belt slippage. Basically your only point of contract on the crank is the bottom.

The only answer that I can tell you is that you have to buy and try. Tell the guy that you are not sure about the size and let him know you will want to return, but will return un-used. Most places are fine with that.

A half inch is not much and the tensioner can make up for that. Also depends if you have underdrive pullies. But again we are talking about small numbers that can be compensated for.
