Default Help, I beg of you! Won't turn over!

HELP! My beloved Nyghtmare died on me this morning, running down the highway! It just... died. Like it wasn't getting any fuel, in fact just. like. it had run out of gas. Fuel pump still whines when you turn the ignition over, so it's not dead. Car tries to turns over, but it just won't start. There were no check engine lights, its not low on oil, low on gas, or having an alternator issue, wasn't overheated, nothing. My husband has spent all day checking the usual - Fuel pump, filter, etc, and nada.

Anyone experienced this or have any suggestions where to begin?

theres a few thing that make and efi motor run, fuel, spark , and compression.

Are you sure you have gas, the mustangs are known for faulty gauges?

Need to check fuel pressure and spark!

What mods are done to the car?

just because you hear the fuel pump does not mean you have volume, check for fuel pressure with a gauge and check for spark

spark sounds like the problem. Coil or maybe in the distributor.

Probably tfi module but make sure you have spark first. Also use the schrader valve to see if you have fuel pressure.

I had a carb car that did that one time and it seemed like it was rotor.

Sucks being stuck on the side of the road.

Default We have gas

We have gas. We have fuel pressure. Its lookin' like its brain dribbled out - ECM went out.

I have gotten the following information out of my husband, who hasn't been just REAL talkative this evening:

Where the fuel relay is, if you stick a paper clip where the two little pins go, and one where the two big pins go, it'll start and run....

and that's all I got out of my husband before he got on the cell phone just now. *headdesk*

Update: Put a new cellanoid on it - that wasn't it. They tested the TFI module. Not it.

Same thing happened to me a month ago. go to your local parts store, even autozone or pep boys, ask for a distributor module. Its the plug for the distributor. Notorious 5.0 problem. they cant take the heat under the hood and blow
