Default Low Coolant Light

This light comes on and stays on, but when I check the radiator it is full, hardly anything in the overflow tank though. I filled the radiator before driving it home about 40 miles from its original home (from my firend's who passed house). I also filled the overflow about half way, now the overflow is almost empty, but radiator is still full. I do not notice any leaks and I have been looking. The car did sit for about 2 years, could the level have dropped from the 40 mile drive? Any ideas?

Thank you!

Does your overflow have the low coolant sensor in it? If it does and it's low, it's either that or the sensor is bad.

Yeah, it has the sensor, now that I looked 50resto. Where is the coolant from the overflow going? I don't see any leaks, could the radiator level have gone down from driving? There is a 3 row in it now, I purchased the stock 1 row online, but was going to return it. A 3 row seems like overkill, but I don't know what exactly he did to the car.

The temp gauge needle seems to stay about where it is on this gauge, sometimes a tad higher. I would assume that is the normal operating range.

You can pull the sensor out and clean it. Also make sure you have enough of coolant in the overflow. That is what is causing the light to come on.

Yeah there should be a cold and hot fill line for the overflow tank, if it's low that will throw the light fo shizz

Check where your coolant hoses go. Where the hose goes into the water pump, where the hoses connect to the heater core, etc.

My heater core has gone out and my coolant levels do the same.

Keep an eye out for water in the oil, other than that it's probably just a leak.
