i have an 86 capri 5.0 and it is basically all stock. i was thinking after doing all the basic tune up **** like oil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor i would get a K & N air filter, flowmaster cat back, and remove the air silencer. what else can i do to help make this thing faster and run better? btw i have very limited income lol

Well, for a limited budget there is not a whole lot that you can do. Instead of the Flowmasters, get some 3:73 gears really improve acceleration. Also, you can bump up the timing, but you will need to run premium gas. Also, you can upgrade your cam and cylinder heads. You have the E6 heads(I think that's what they are called), so you can upgrade to the E7 heads(they're the stock heads for 87-95. They don't flow that well, but they are better than the E6's and you can find them for dirt, dirt cheap) and maybe a mild cam. Sadly, you have to pay to play to really get your car moving.

kinda off topic but are the e7's the name for the stock heads on a 87-93 5.0?

i did the gt40 intake that i got for $100 plus misc parts for maybe $100 and it gave a lil bit of a nicer push of power.

i would suggest to go with the gt40 intake at least, or a better aftermarket, if your going to be doing any. the e7's would be easy and cheap but honestly probably not worth the time.

Not worth the swap. Hold out for a cheap set a GT40's or better. I'd start with Gears and work your way forward
