Default Help ID this GT40 lower

So I picked this up brand new in the box from a guy and I have a few questions on it. First, don't know if this is the cheap China replica or Ford original. I believe it's a Ford piece, but want to make sure. The other is on the underside of the intake there's a big aluminum plate...what the hell is it? I haven't seen this on others so I was just wondering what the deal is with it.

Anyone know at least what the big aluminum plate is along the underside of the intake? The other GT40's I've seen are smaller.

The GT 40, Explorer and Cobra lower all look the same so it's hard to say that it is specifically is a GT 40 lower.
That I know of all GT 40 were made in the USA the Cobra was the only intake made in China.
It should say on the bottom front of the lower if it was made in China or not.

The plate is a baffle to stop oil from being sucked up by the PCV.

The baffle makes sense. I was just wondering why it was so much larger than others than I've seen on ebay, like 4 times the size. It doesn't say made in China underneath, I looked it over good so I'm assuming that's cool. The one thing I did notices is that it doesn't have the ports for the egr so I'll have to figure out what to do with that. I suppose I could just delete the egr?

That is off an Explorer, no provision for the ACT Sensor in the first runner on the driver side. F87E says it came off a 98 or later model.

Good to know. Actually it's new, never installed or run and came in a Ford box. Makes sense if it was bought from a dealer there's probably one GT40 lower or something like that. I though that the ACT is tapped. I'll have to look again.

So then would this intake be the one that I need to run the EGR?
