i just picked up a 93 lx 105k nice deal its automatic and it wont go over 40mph in overdrive but when i put it in d in will go up to 80 i didnt push it any further and the gas pedal sticks sometimes and when im at the light wen i take off it jerks any advice or input would be very helpful thanks in advance

what do you mean it won't go over 40 in OD?? TRANS SLIPPING?? or does the car just plain hesitate/lack power??

i'd like to help you but a little better explanation is necessary.Won't go over 40mph as in pushed to the floor and no power like the trans is binding up or it goes to nuetral and revs up.

yea as in the motor is not getting power anymore

i was at 50mph and i shifted back into od and it just revved

the tranmission shop said that the 93 came with two different transmission how do i find out which one i have and if i get a new one will they both work

As far as I know FOX bodies only came with the AOD,Not AODE if that is what you mean.
Sounds as if the OD is history.The cable grommet at the throttle body probably fell out.

Or if you are mechanically inclined you could build it yourself.The AOD i one of the easiest ones to do.Kit is probably about $100 if you buy a filter and about $100 more for a torque converter.If you lived closer i would help you do it.Wanna pay for my flight and a stay at your place?I see you are in California.Are you close to the beach?
