10:1 odds its a fuse link or some stupid BS like that.

I had to go troubleshoot my NCOIC's car b/c it died on him on the highway. turns out, after all the testing, his coil crapped out. swapped the disty/coil assembly, and he was one happy camper.

Moral of the story is... test test test, and when you find the part that you THINK is the culprit, take it with you to the part store, and test the two against each other
