Has anyone had any experience with unequal length shorty headers? Do they add a noticable amount of punch over the stock crimped headers? I was considering the FRPP ones. Does anybody have any brand favorites or advice? Thanks.

Ive heard alot of bad things about them. Mainly that they leak alot, i guess the just dont seat too well. Ive also heard that they're really not of a hp gainer. Why not use long ones instead? Usually people use shorties in real tight engine wells.

you might get a few hp's(5-9) if your stock. there just in a series of mods to get the whole picture. If you usethe coper gasket you'll be leak free they come with the mac headers

vfast is right, by themselves they don't get you alot on a stock motor, but as your mods continue they start to shine, especially if you're using nitrous or a supercharger. ceraminc coatings give you a bump as well - expensive but worth in over the long haul.

if you have a 5.0, why don't you look at equal lengths shorties they reall are better? are you getting a really good deal on unequals?

I'd like to stay with shortys. Will equal length ones perform somewhat better? The car ('90 5.0) has a new h-pipe on so that's why I wanted to stay with the shortys. Do equal ones fit alright? Unequals looked like a breeze to install so I assume unequals shouldn't be too bad.

Unless you've installed h/c/i, injectors, maf, tb, etc., you don't need long tubes. They're a pita to install number one. #2, you won't gain that much without the other mods. As far as leaks, my svo shorty's have been on for nine years with no leaks, and I can get to all the plugs easily.

You're right dan, how many threads have we both read about people complaining they have no low end torque anymore? As far as I'm concerned, long tubes are for serious hp makers.

I put an H_Pipe on my 94 then put flowmaster mufflers on felt some power then I put on Flowtech unequal headers and yes you can fill the power. People can talk bad about flowtech headers but I had no problems and no mods had to be done I saved money.
