Is fith gear in a t-5 suppose to make a faint noise?

my 5th gear whines. but who knows how many miles are on it. i can say if i had spent the $$$ to have the trans rebuilt and its not right, i'd be kinda pissed if the rebuilder says its suppose to do that. maybe try taking it to another shop and see what they say about the noise after a rebuild. although they may laugh at ya when they hear that you didnt get the work done there originally.
