Default aftermarket fuel pump?

car is a 90 lx with a carburated 351w.

I was racing and it seemed like it completely stopped pulling in the top end also in 3rd gear at 5200rpm it would start sputtering.

I currently have the stock fuel injected 4cyl pump with 5/16" fuel lines to a regulator keeping it at 7-1/2 pressure. so its probably not getting enough fuel in the top end im thinking

I'm going to go to a holley blue electric fuel pump and was wondering what i use for the pickup in the tank after i take out the stock pump.. is there a kit for this or what am i supposed to do?

Thanks guys!

just slap a rubber hose in place of the pump. and put the new pump on the outside

thats what alot of people do. as long as you get hose thats fuel and oil resistant.

You will still starve a hot 351 with 5/16 line on a carbed engine and low pressure pump. Here is what I use in my tank.

I have the -10 an pickup line reduced to -8an and -8an all the way to the carb with a Holley HP125 pump pushing the fuel. The Holley HP125 needs no regulator and is really quiet compared to the Blue Pump. The larger the fuel line the better flow of fuel to the carb and the lower pressure required. Youre just spinning your wheels with 5/16 fuel line.
