Default How many miles is too many to start modding?

My car has 175,000 miles and its pretty much stock. I was wondering how many miles are too many? Because wouldn't a H/C/I swap could throw parts out of whack that have worn together and so on and so forth.

I've seen 5.0's go well past 200k but if you really wanna get the most out of your h/c/i , ring seal or lack there of on a higher mileage 5.0 may not give you all that it could

You are reaching the higher mileage status to start mods but a long as it ha been taken decent care of and passes a leakdown test fairly well I say go to town!
I have one unmodded at 267,000 miles that will still do a 60 second brake stand and not even sweat. These cars were built to take some abuse.
Let us know how it goes!

I have over a 100k and I wont do my H/C/I. Im just going to beat the hell out of it until it blows then put in a new engine starting out with 400hp and go from there. But until then I just been doing everything else like bottom end, tires, stiffing her up, lighting her up, I put the battery in the back. basically everything but the engine.

I hate to say it but I'll bet if you keep up the required oil and filter changes it could be YEARS before she blows up.Hope you are patient.I beat the crap out of the 260,000+ miler and keep an eye on the fluids and it refuses to die!The 5.0 H.O was overengineered thank goodness.
