I personally would go with the 3.73's. Your really not gonna be hitting your top speed all that often even on a 1/4 mile track. So I would sacrafice a little on the top speed to get that little my pull on the bottom.</P>

Well, its my daily driver and I would still like for it to get up on the highway. I have a ranger with 3.73 and once it hits about 85 it takes awhile to get to top speed. (I know they're completely different with gearing and everything)

3.55:1's would be the way to go for a daily driver. I had the same dilemma and decided to go with the 3.55's (not in til spring-so I don't have a first hand account for ya, sorry). The 3.73's will run out first geartoo quick for a daily driver IMO. As far as the top end...you should be able to achieve roughly the same as stock (maybe higherbecause its easier to overcome the drag) just at higher rpm's. I guess it depends how often youplan on driving140mph. And like you said you wanna be able run on the highway, as do I, so the 3:55's would be a good choice.

Better 'off the line', quicker overall (0-60 & 1/4), more shifting gears (probably use 4th in town), easier to keep the car in the powerband.Gears are torque multipliers so it seems like there is way more torque at the wheels.Don't know if thats what you're looking for!</P><edited><editID>piston</editID><editDate>37936.6234490741</editDate></edited>

I have 3:55 in our daily car..works great why worry about top speed as most fox bodies are dangerous over 110 as their just not the most stable car and in 90-91 it got a lil better with the camber put in the car..when doing those 100+mph jolts be careful
