Default engines codes

ive been reading everywhere and using the search function but just can fine a nice right up on how to pull engine codes, by hand or is there a scanner available for these year stangs?

i have a 1991 5.0 LX Hatch

also for airbag lights, when i was installing my stereo and subs, once i hooked back up the battery i had a airbag light and it blinks 4 times and stops then 4 times and stops and so on...

if anyone has any input on the airbag light please help me and/or pulling engine codes feel free to post as well

the scanner is 20 or 30 bucks at Autozone.
There is a way to rig it up. I don't remember how, I bought the scanner instead.

this one counts lights also. It shows you how to run several test though. Wiggle test, engine balance, koeo and koer. The better scanners were up around 80 to 100.
Actron is the name of it.

all you need is a paper clip to use as a jumper. the diagram shows you how to use the jumper to make the check engine light flash the codes. Its simple.

+1, you do not need to buy anything. Count the flashes, easy as that.
