Default Transmission Questions

Alright, so heres my situation. I have an automatic transmision in my 93 2.3l. I have a 5.0 motor, and a computer for a t5.

Is my best bet to find a t5 and swap it to a manual, or find a automatic computer? If so, what exactly do I need to swap the t5 in? I hacve the computer, so i need the transmission, the peddal assembly, what else?

bascially, whats my best case scenario right now

if you got to a t5 you'll need:

transmission, bell housing, clutch fork, throw out bearing
flywheel
clutch
new pilot bearing(just because you are in there anyways)
pedal assembly
clutch cable, quadrant, firewall adapter
tranmission mount
fluid
shifter(unless its already on the tranny)
bezel inside the car

there is probably a few loose ends im missing.

Easier, probably the auto but you are in the same situation with both items. I would just go ahead and swap to a t5 while you are there. The auto will go out anyway.

Don't forget the with a manual you lose a good 30 lbs and pick up the fun factor.

I'd replace the rear main seal while in there if doing t-5.

yeah i know, but its the matter of finding the parts quickly and cheaply. none of hte junkyards around me have t5's in stock.

what other cars had t5's that i would be able to pull one out of?
