Default Weird car acceleration

When at wot, my car will hesitate and the Tach will kind bounce around shifting randomly between 3k and 4k rpms.... also during this time the car really hits a wall accelerating, if you keep on the gas it will eventually come out of it and continue to climb in rpms. Its really wierd... anyone ever experience this or have any thoughts? it accelerates like normal after 4k and preceding 3k... i tried to take a video of it but quality is not too good.... i hope to try to capture it again here soon so you can see exactly what its doing.

ah, with your tach bouncing like that, it sounds like it could be something in the fire instead of the fuel. Still you like to take precautions.

The car doesn't give a check light or does it ever flash?
Have you ran the codes?

The check engine light does work, however it is not indicating a problem. I jsut replaced the hall effect sensor/stator/pickup on the car. Could this be a cause of bad timing? i have it set to 10 degree base time, and i stabbed the distributer with the rotor pointing to the # 1 cylinder @ TDC.

Take out the spout connector, connect timing light to # 1 Dist Wire, Turn on car. Check...
