Exclamation 1986 5.0L,

Hello, I have a 86 EFI 5.0L. AOD. just tore down. Im wanting to keep the crank, but go with forged rods, and pistons. with a E303/F303 Cam. scrap the stock heads, and go with GT40x Aluminum. with performance hydraulic rollers. and a trick flow upper and lower I.M. with a 70mm TB. with speed density. also putting.long tubes, with no cat. x pipe, to FM with turn downs
but I dont want to mess with MA, or the harness/computer. then run a A/C eliminator, and scrap all the smog.
shorter serp. belt.? any help. suggestions? will this setup work. Thanks.

From what I have read, and through experience, you will not be able to run a different cam with the speed density. Plus with the items you stated, you would be better served with 24# injectors, which will not work either.

With that said, I believe you need to go Mass Air or Carb.

you can do anything on a SD car as you would a MAF car, you just have to be more selective on the cam, I have a sticky with a chart explaining which cams/specs are SD compatible

I was unaware, but there has to be a limit ? I'm sure 42# injectors will not work or ??

you cant realistically swap injectors on a SD system. Unless you are a mathematical genious, and can get your setup to require the exact amount of fuel a larger injector will put out

im still not sure that the tweecer or Moates QH can tune an SD ecm

You should check out the Speed Density Forum, there is a guy there with a 347, however he is running a very mild cam and 24# injectors. Check it out.
