RE: Help with AOD build PLEASE!
I'm not sure what the high performance AOD rebuild kits consist of but they are $180.00, but I think that it is a complete rebuild and comes with some strengthed and high performance parts, I would also get a Transgo shift kit and install the full racing springs along with a lentech vavle body, and get a converter with either a 2,500 or a 3,000 rpm stall rating. You'd be sitting good with that stuff, or just order the street terminator AOD from http://lentechautomatics.com/

RE: Help with AOD build PLEASE!
-A higer stall speed torque converter. Like 2500 or 3000 even
-A tranny cooler
-A good valve body or a good shift kit for the stock valve body
-A master rebuilt kit with good clutches and steels. I don't know if reds are the way to go on a daily driver. I've heard stock or even blues would last longer. I don't exactly know why though. Maybe reds are better for short bursts like racing.
-New throwout bearings
-Stronger input shaft
-Locking snap rings for intermediate sprag
-Kevlar Overdrive Band
-Synthetic Fluid
-Larger capacity trans pan (more fluid = lower operating temp)
-A+ overdrive servo
-Might as well change the rear main seal while the tranny is out.
I'm sure there are more things, but that's most of what I'm having done to mine at the moment. Here are some sources
