ahhh, cool, the next time I pull it out of the garage I'll take a look, it's been in there for 3 months with no day light

yes their is 3 spots on each side for the rod to go into to adjust.you just pull up on the rods and move them to another notch and it should make the tension on the trunk lid get stiffer.

i was facing them towards the front not back, i didnt see those notches, awesome guys, thank you

those pictures are taken from the outside, looking in.
the adjustment "notches" are behind the carpet on the sides of the trunk
