Default EFI or carb for a 351w?

was just wondering what people thought the best bet would be for a 351. i know money wise the carb would probably be cheaper. was curious if it would be worth spending the money and having it fuel injected. any input?

thanks

personaly id go carb, its easyer simpler and cheeper, and the preformance loss would be minimal

If this car is a daily driver and you have the money to do the EFI I would definentally do it. The extra performance and the extra gas mileage is way worth it.

I am doing a 351w and i am planning on going EFI. I did some research, and it does not take much to make your 351w EFI. From what I have found, all you need is a 351 fuelrail(which are probably all over junkyards) and the 351 upper/lower intake. The 19# injectors are good to 300hp, but it would be a better idea to invest in some 24#. I have also read that the computer will run it without any change, but I am not sure about all that lol. Anyways, thats really all i can remeber, if someone finds something that i missed let me know!

You will need the ECU of course but go out and a find an EFI bronco that came with the 351, and just gut the engine bay. Take it all home and get what ya need off of it.

i was just curious. it seems that most would want EFI. thats probably what i would do since the car is allready set up for EFI. it would be cheaper, but take more work to get a carb to work.
couple things i wanted to add after reading. the 351 EFI swap doesnt take alot of new items. you can use the alt, power steering, waterpump, front cover, heads(if you have some aftermarkets you like), and alot of other things that are on the 302. #19 injectors probably wouldnt work well, the stock 351s had #24s i believe. start modding the engine and your gonna starve it for fuel. i wouldnt need an ecu out of a bronco. i believe they used the same ones that are on the mustangs.

you can use the stock computer but you will need a tuning device or a chip of some sort. yes you can use alot of the parts off the 302 and depending on how much hp you are going for will determine the size of injectors to use
