Default timing ?

okay
so i replaced my harmonic balancer because it had slipped and was no longer pointing at the right timing
after replacing it, the timing was pointing a little bit closer than it was before, but it still points at about 22+ degrees of base timing with the spout out
what else could cause my timing to be that far off?
the car runs fine and has no problems, i just cant figure out this timing problem

Back it off to 14. Some engines can tolerate a crapload of timing, even if it's far beyond the best power range.

Well, it doesn't hurt to check it instead of guessing. And it doesn't take hours to check the timing, just a few minutes.

...Make sure you run super unleaded if you keep the "unknown" time high to be safe!
