Exclamation Headlight issue

88 mustang LX hatchback 5speed
long story short - headlights dont work until brights are clickd ON, then they work. if the brights are clickd OFF and i just push my light switch on (top lefthand corner of dash) then my parklights work but no head lights. Basically my brights work but my low beams do not any ideas of how to troubleshoot/fix??

are the bulbs any good?? there are two elments in the bulb, one for high, one for low.........if you want to troubleshoot it properly, you'll need a wiring diagram.

Take a couple hours and use the search feature,, theres tons of info on "electrical problems" etc.

The headlight switch , multi function switch (blinker switch) and bad grounds,, not to mention wireing not heavy enough to handle the headlight/ fog light system, plague these cars.

My money is on a bad headlight switch. Good Luck.
