Today when I was driving, trying to put it in first it would bog as if my clutch wasn't fully engaging and it would die. It would idle but not go into gear, and now after it idles for a minute or so it won't even idle, it just bogs down and dies. I was first thinking the fuel filter is clogged since it bogs when I hit the gas, but it won't even idle now so it could still be the filter but it was running great today, this came on all of the sudden so I don't think it could have gotten clogged so fast unless there was a large foreign object in my tank and it got stuck in the filter after it passed through the lines.

Any other ideas? When it's bogging and I hit the gas I get a gas smell, possibly from trying to rev it just sitting there and i'm smelling the exhaust since I have side exits but I don't get that smell when it's running fine, just when it's bogging as if unburnt fuel is escaping, I don't know. I'll probably have to tow it to a shop.

Also can anyone tell me where the fuel filter is at and what tools I need to replace it? I can't go look since the car is in the parking lot at my work, I had to call my brother to drive me home.

Anybody? I really need help with this, I gotta get it running again by tomorrow i'm going to try to replace the fuel filter tonight. I'm a car noob, even a fuel filter swap is a big job for me, I need help lol!

fuel filter is up above the rear axle, you need to check for fuel and spark, see if the Fuel pump buzzes briefly when you switch the key on, use an old spark plug to check for spark, pull a wire and insert plug and ground electrode and look for spark jumping the gap
