There should not be vacuum connected to the o/p gauge. You have done something wrong. Do you have instructions?

Interesting, sounds like someone made a big no no and then went thru and deleted it to cover his tracks.

Pretty much! Basically he hooked a vacuum source to his mechanical o/p gauge and it was sucking oil
. Go figure
