5.0 Rebuild

5.0 Rebuild
New to this forum and seems to be alot of good information on this site as well as some very knowledgable people. Im going to be swaping in a 5.0 efi from an 89-92 mustang into my 66 F100. I chose the 5.0 because of reliability and the amount of aftermarket parts available. I will be keeping A/C, PS, EFI, etc as this will be a daily driver. I will also be putting in the AOD trans and have a true trac posi 9 inch rear end with most likely 3.55 gears. I would like to rebuild the engine before I put it in because everything on this truck will be brand new or restored and I want a reliable, durable truck as I plan on having this truck for the next 20+ years. Im not going to be taking it the strip or anything like that, just a powerful daily driver. Im not going to be hauling anything in this truck either. This truck I believe weighs around 3900 lbs completely stock so low end torque is a must. Im looking for low end power as I dont plan on getting past 6000 rpms anytime soon lol. Im looking for around 300+ rwhp without adding a turbo or supercharger. I will have a budget around $5,000 set aside to rebuild the engine and AOD trans. Any advice on what heads, intake, cam I should look into? What about the AOD trans rebuild? I want a reliabel transmission thats going to easily hold up to that amount of power while while being in a 3900lb truck. Is this kind of rebuild/rwhp doeable with a 5k budget? Any other advice you guys may have feel free to let me know.

Afr 185 or tfs 190 Fac , Have CI design to a cam that'll satisfy your goal rpm air gap intake, 650 dp carb and a solid rebuilt bottm end with good ring seal and 300 rwhp shouldn't be a prob

300 hp is easy really. decent heads slightly ported, modest cam and your there.
the big thing is the trans... i say get a lentech
i tried the AOD thing numerous times in the past.... in a stockish car that ran 14's i broke 3 of them in 6 years, and another car i had was hurting as well b4 i ditched it
lentech is the only way to
