Default ignition system

hey guys. so to be short as possible, i have a completely stock 88 lx. i plan to take the turbo route when i get the money. i will be converting the car to maf, and will be doing the basic supporting mods such as exhaust, fuel pump, new and colder plugs, injectors, chip, and dyno tune (i think that wraps it up) but im not to sure on the ignition system. yea it would be nice get a full msd, but im trying to stay as cheap as possible so my question is, how much power is the stock ignition system good for, or when do you really need to upgrade your ignition system????? thanks, and any other advice would be much appreciated

you'd be wise on a boosted application to get an ignition with boost retard

6al would work fine, along with the boost retard as mentioned. Get the box, coil, better plug wires, ect.

i guess i will go with the digital 6. maybe i will find one used for a resonable price. as for the msd coil and wires, are they pretty universal for any v8 motor???? 8.0-8.5? also, what about my stock distributor? thanks

Stock will be ok. I think they are pretty good up to 6000rpms if I remember right. BUt go with FRPP 9mm. And you can get a couple different colors to try and match your engine bay.
