Default P/S pump is bad, manual steering?

Hey guys my power steering pump just took a crap on me. It's pretty tougher than normal to turn, I can pull the pulley and the shaft in and out of the pump about 1/8th of an inch and it's making some horrible noise under load. I was wondering if it was worth the weight savings to just switch over to a manual rack. This is a weekend warrior and is driven about twice a week if I'm lucky. I'm not sure how this car would do with out the power steering or how much all of that weighs compared to just a manual rack. Thanks for any input!

Default P/S

I would go with the manual rack in your application. You would loose a good amount of weight not to mention better steering on the drag strip.
