Benifits of an electric fan?

Bottom line is they will free up horsepower, no question about it. I recently ran into an article (not from a magazine) where a guy with a 377ci engine made an additional 25hp/25tq just from swapping to the e-fan.
When I do my cam swap I plan on doing the e-fan as well.
