Yes, I agree this was rare but some came with plugs in place of the fittings. It was the exception and not typically the rule.

O.k guys I replaced the u-joints today and i'm still getting that squeal. Like I said before it sounds like its coming from the transmission right around the pan and the torque converter cover. Any Ideas on what that could be? I only hear that sound when I'm going slow--oh and one more thing-- when I had my u-joints put in one of the mechanics there said that my gear housing was so hot that he almost burned himself on it. This was before he replaced my u-joints and he checked the fluid level and he said it was fine. The oil in there was just put in there when I put gears in about 2 months ago. Any help is greatly appreciated

Check shocks and struts... I had similiar problem just pust your car up and down and see if you have a squeek still might be your shocks.

Thanxs for the idea but it only makes the squeeking noise when the rear tires are turning. I've had the entire rear end of the car up in the air and when I turn the wheel thats when it makes the sound--which,like I said before, sounds like its coming from the tranny. Thanxs again for the idea anyways!

Check the fluid level in the tranny. It could be the tailshaft seal on the tranny. Is it leaking? Does the car shift good and drive good in general? If the tranny is low on fluid put a Lucas Tranny Fix in it. It will replenish the seals.

I know someones gonna hound me on the "Put Lucas in it" comment, but I have had good results with the Lucas products ands we use it all the time at the shop.

I replaced the tailshaft seal 2 months ago when I put my new gears in. At that time, yes it was leaking. It is filled with tranny fluid because I had to replace the tranny cooler a couple weeks ago and I made sure it was full and that there wasn't any leaks. And for your information I agree with the "put Lucas in it" comment. I put Lucas in my engine at every oil change and I have it in my transmission too. It just seems like the car runs better and shifts better than it ever used to. My stang shifts fine and drives fine too--So maybe I'm worrying about nothing? It's just when I hear something I've never heard before I get a little worried[&o]
