Default tranny?

I have a 94 gt with a t5 and can't keep the gears and input shafts from breaking. I have about 300 rwhp and about 320 ft/lbs torque. I broke 3rd gear and had the tranny rebuilt at a local shop and had some aftermarket hardened parts put in there to prevent this but it broke again yesterday and the shop claims it is out of their hands. I was wondering what you guys are doing with these cars because the stock tranny is only rated for like 300 ft/lbs. Will any never trannys bolt up to my car or what kind of aftermarket tranny is good for daily driver too that can hold the power?

most guys that are making good power are using tremic tko's. i have an aftermarket t5 from astroperformance.com that is rated pretty high up there. if you want a seriours trans you can go for a g-force t5

which tranny did you get i was looking and see that the 400hp one is still only rated for 275 torque. most of the time if a car is making 400hp it is making more than 275 torque

300 hp should hold up all day long on a T5

the first weak link (assuming you launch hard and hook) is the axles

the next is the trans, if your breaking trannies, and still on stock axles i think your doing it wrong

ok you have some issues, that trans should last 20 years street driving under 500 hp

i launch on nitrous, and powershift all the way. never owned anything but a stock t5

i have buddies who run 11's, launch at 5k on slicks and the t5 lasts all year or more (lots of drag strip trips)

you need to go here and call them... they are the 5 -speed experts
