hey also loosen up the bolts to the front piece of the fenders loosen up your bumper cuz if not paint will fuse the fender and bumper together and then will peel off after time.

all i have to say is sand sand sand sand and sand, make shure it is smooth, i did the gt moldings all the way around my car, i used rattle cans for it so i can not lean on them or it will crack lol, but i sanded it with 2000 grit for my final sanding before paint and it looks great, A VERY BIG NO NO IS DO NOT USE PAINT REMOVER ON THE GT MOLDINGS i learned the hard way on my all orignal 92gt lets just say i was pissed big time. and make shure to take the 1/4 windowns out, my 88gt was repainted and it was pealing their. just have fun with it, i have a feeling it will look great, in 05 blue, also with the skirts you should use a flex addative in it.

the warping in the skirts in from the sun, the heat makes them bend and it looks really really bad, mine look the same way, and the nicer the paint job the worse they look

Hey tim i have the same exact color scheme but mine is a 89. Anyways you need to clean the bay your spraying in really really well. We sprayed the 65 cobra in a garage and we didnt clean it out good and if you look really closly you can see bits of dirt. So sweep out all of the dust and then wash everything down the floors the walls everything. You would be surprised at the dust we got off the wall. You dont want to do all that sanding and have dirt in your paint so clean good.

Alot of places will wet the floor before they pull the car in to keep the dust down. If your using an older style gun, not the HVLP put a sock on the cup. This way if you happen to get a leak or drip off the cup the sock will catch it. Brake shoes are good for around the tires so the hose moves freely and doesn't get caught up.

hey tim88 200 grit might not be the best to use before paint. 1000-2000 grits are used to cut and buff. its to fine grit for paint to adhere, the best choice is 400-600 and 800 to reclear.
