For all you spent, that was the least they could send you. It would take a long post to describe...you might go to the website one of your manufacturer's for the story and print it out.

what cam you running? make sure you check valve to piston clearance. make sure your push rods are correct length. careful on adjusting the valves you need a repair manual with valve adjusting instructions or a web site with instructions . good luck.

with the rockers in place, spin the push rod in your fingers. as you spin it, slowly tighten down the rocker nut. as soon as it gets tight to where you can no longer spin the pushrod with your fingers, tighten the rocker nut 3/4-1 turn more and then lock it in place. the valve you adjust must be closed. if the cam is trying to lift, it wont adjust right

86 wait until you have more instructions on valve adjustment . you can mess up big time. each valve MUST be in correct position when you adjust it . i don't have the instructions available where i am now. the chilton or haynes repair manuals have instructions. one easy way is to mark the harmonic balancer & turn to the exhact spot & adjust certain valves & turn to next mark & so on till all is adjusted. if you don't do this right you will be doing it again later.
