reinstalled my dizzy
just replaced my pickup coil and reinstalled my dizzy. I marked everything prior to uninstalling and when i dropped my dizzy back in, it seemed to me that the rotor was in the exact same spot. what can i look for if its installed 1 tooth off? any side effects i should look out for? Car runs and revs just fine, the idle is rough, but it was like that prior to the change

Even if you are a tooth off your timing can look right.
Are you having odd overheating problems?
Glowing headers?
Backfiring thru the intake or exhaust for any reason?
Stumbling thru the rpm range?
Higher idle than it was before you mess with it?
Those are usual first ideas to know you didn't set it back in right.

Its easy to figure out. Turn the engine with the #1 spark plug out, your finger over the hold, when you feel air come out, you are on the compression stroke, continute to turn the engine over until the harmonic shows -0- TDC. Stop and take off your dizzy cap. If its right you rotor will be right on the #1 wire terminal on the cap.
If not your a tooth off.
