need help on intake manifold decision

Post need help on intake manifold decision

i have a ford downs upper intake manifold on my car now with the stock lower should i put a gt40 upper and lower intake off a explorer on my car? would it help or hurt it? which upper is the best? the ford downs is hollow inside so seems like it would be better????

what do you mean by ford downs manifold? The Gt40 manifold is definitely considerably better than the stock 89 5 liter manifold.

but no its deff not the stock upper thats on it now its about the size of a loaf of bread its a upper manifold thats for turbos an superchargers i was wondering if it would make more power n//a with that an the stock lower than the gt40 upper an lower but i rly wanna kno which upper would be better the one i have or the gt40

If you are talking about the box intake from Down's Ford from Toms River, NJ, it requires the use of forced induction to be of any use. It will kill the drivability of a stock or near stock 5.0L. otherwise it is a well regarded intake for boosted engines.

What would it do on an engine with Trickflow heads and a TF stage 1 cam. I plan on going FI in the future, i just dont want to kill my bottom end in the mean time. Any thoughts?
I have 3.73 gears by the way.

I am assuming you are running your stock cobra intake. Keep it on until you go FI. You'll lose alot of that low end torque your combo produces with a no runner breadbox.
