I just got a great deal on a GT40 explorer intake locally here. When I went to order the intake gaskets the guy at the autoparts store told me that the stock Mustang 5.0 gaskets might be the same but wasn't sure. I'm also going to do the valve cover gaskets while I got the top end all apart. Does anyone know if there's a specific kit out there I should be using for this conversion? The autoparts guy said when you do the valve covers the intake gaskets come with it but I don't want to have to buy 2 sets of intake gaskets if the stock ones are the same. So long story short do I have to order the GT40 intake gaskets and order the stock valve cover gaskets that include intake gaskets?

stock 5.0 h.o upper plenuim gaskets are not the same as gt-40/explorer plenuim gaskets, you need the gaskets for the specific application= gt-40/explorer

go to the store and tell them you need the gaskets for a 5.0 explorer

the lower intake gaskets are the same the only one that changes is the upper if u wanna save some money get the stock 5.0 gaskets thats like 9.99 for the whole kit and then ask for the upper gasket from an 96 explorer which is like 7.00 u save like 8.00 dollars, cause i think the kit for the explorer is like 26.00 plus tax
