ive flushed my radiator and there is no leaking from the radiator itself but the reservoir keeps jetting out anti-freeze from the breather hole at the top underneath the reservoir-cap what can be done as a cheap fix im pretty sure ill have to replace the radiator but i might need to replace the heater core does anyone have any suggestions or similar experiances?

get the cap tested.

just replace it.. they only cost like $6-$10

dont fill the reservoir all the way to the top either...

could very well be.

either that or you blew a head gasket and are pressurizing the cooling system with combustion gases

i dont mean to barge in on your thread, but im having a similar problem. i dont believe i have blown a head gasket, there is no coolant in the oil or on the plugs, no oil in the coolant.i pulled the t-stat out and it will still overheat to the point the resivior will boil over. i was thinkin it was the waterpump, but i didnt know a faulty rad cap could cause this.

pulling the thermostat out is a stupid idea

you dont give the coolant enough time out in the radiator to actually cool off..

but once the t-stat opens isnt everything flowing at the same rate anyway? just starts flowing sooner

wrong. The thermostat itself will open, flow hot coolant out to the radiator, cool, and reclose.

it is also a smaller passage, which adds restriction to the fluid flow.

Your logic is flawed, put a 180° T-stat back in there
