I COULD USE SOME HELP.......
SO IM INSTALLING MY EIBACH SPRINGS IN MY 83 CONVERTIBLE WHICH ILL BE RUNNING 90/10 STRUTS FROM COMPETITION ENGINEERING BUT ANY WAY... IM USING THE SPRING COMPRESSORS ( ONE ON EACH SIDE OF THE SPRING ) BUT THE THREADED SHAFT OF THE COMPRESSOR HITS THE TOP OF THE SHOCK TOWER BEFORE THE SPRING CAN BE PUT IN PLACE.... IS THERE A DIFFERENT STYLE OF COMPRESSOR OR A DIFFERENT TECHNIQUE YOU CAN USE ANY HELP APPRECIATED

Yup, you need the type of compressor that goes thru the center of the spring. Or, if you have a large stiff prybar, you can muscle them in like most ppl do. You gotta be careful though, if the spring pops out look out.

thanks for the quick reply these drag springs are a pain but i did wonder about taking the die grinder and cutting the compressor shafts like 2 or 3 inchs off the end than they would have the clearance i need but wanted to check if any one has tried this

when i first put my eibachs in i didnt need to compress them to put them in, did you get the sport pack? Thats how small they were
To get the old ones out i had the same problem with 2 diff types of compressors so i resorted to chains....
I switched to ford racing springs, which are in there now, and i made my own compressor with two metal plates, two threaded rods, and a few nuts and tools... took for ever but it was worth it...

im finally gettin them in there just a pain this is my first spring install ive done probably not the easiest ive considered quiting and taking up kniting instead a couple times i would imagine these are easier when theres 2 people or a lift not one guy sitting in a dirt drive way because his garage is full of crap .........

i undid the ball joint tie rod sway bar and the spindle bolts on the strut i spent like 2 hours easy just trying to get every thing perfect , finally did , and i look down and see the rubber bumper for the top of the strut ......... and not relizing that the jack was no longer under the spring........ i took the nut from the top of the strut off and things went flying left and right all that work for nothing...........:i con_doh:
